Ita Enang vs Akan Udofia: Proceedings stalled as Udofia misses court again

At the resumed sitting of the Federal High Court of Nigeria sitting in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, on Tuesday, the court announced its continued difficulty in serving summons to the 1st Defendant, Mr Akan Udofia, who was announced as winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) 2023 governorship ticket.

Counsel to Senator Ita Enang, Achu T. Achu announced that the court bailiff successfully served the APC, having earlier served the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

J. Y. Musa SAN appeared for APC.

The presiding judge, Justice A. A. Okeke stated that the court must serve Mr. Udofia on or before 22nd July, 2022.

The judge also announced that the court may resort to using substituted means to serve Udofia, and warned against perceived evasive tactics by any party in the case.

Today's sitting makes it the second time the court has announced that the bailiff is having difficulties to serving Mr Akan Udofia.
