FORMER PRESIDENT GENERAL ORON UNION DEFECTS TO YPP

The immediate past President General of Oron Union, Chief Mrs Janet Amba who a few days ago resigned her position as Senior Special Assistant(SSA) to the Akwa Ibom State Governor on Small and Medium Scale Enterprises today, 24th June 2022 officially registered with the Young Progressives Party (YPP).

The event which took place at her community Mbokpu Uko Akai, Urue Offong Oruko Ward 6 drew a large crowd of family, friends, associates and party faithfuls.

Speaking shortly after receiving her membership card, Chief Janet Amba said she made the choice to join YPP because she is sure it is the only party which will draw human and infrastructural development to not only Mbokpu Uko Akai but also to Urue Offong Oruko LGA and the Oro nation at large. She guaranteed that with YPP the infrastructural deficit in Oro nation will be a thing of the past.

She asked party members to be rest assured that she is bringing her energy, dedication and commitment to community service to bear on the fortunes of the party.

Also gracing the event were Dr. Lawrence Akaiso, YPP Oro Federal Constituency Leader; Mr Moses Antigha , YPP Assistant Secretary; Mr Lawrence Etim, YPP Financial Secretary; Engr. Iniobong Asukwo Isaac, YPP Chapter Chairman Urue Offong Oruko; Deaconess Akon Etim Akan, YPP State Assistant Woman Leader; Mr Emmanuel Odohodi, Oro Federal House hopeful; Miss Mercy Ukim, YPP Urue Offong Oruko State House aspirant; Ulap Emmanuel Ntekim, President Essu Nlap Oro Rivers State; Mr Baron, Immediate past President, Eyoabasi Community amongst others.

Also speaking, Dr Lawrence Akaiso said the YPP is the only political vehicle in Akwa Ibom State without two drivers, faulty tires, knocked engines or contested vehicle papers and as such those who want Oro to be developed should look in the direction of YPP as he is certain that it will produce the next Governor of Akwa Ibom State.

Akan Okon vs. Umo Eno: Prof Jideoni petitions security agencies against blogger for libel

Professor Jideoni Charles, a Professor of Professor of Graphognomy (Handwriting Analysis), Professor of English Language, and a linguist, has petitioned security agencies against an Uyo based blogger, Wisdom Bassey, over alleged libel. Prof Jideoni had carried out forensic investigation into the West African Examination Council certificate tendered by the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Pastor Umo Eno, before the Federal High Court sitting in Uyo, in his case against governorship aspirant, Mr Akan Okon, and adjudged same as unoriginal. The petition, as sighted by newsmen over the weekend, condemned a "damaging false report carried out by one Mr Wisdom Bassey who works online with Newsline9ja.com on the account of slander and libel against me in a newspaper publication by GLOBAL PILOT earlier this year."
