Ifim Ibom Ibibio Hails Oku Ibom Ibibio On Conferment Of CFR Award


Ifim Ibom Ibibio otherwise known as the Supreme Council of Ibibio Traditional Rulers Council has felicitated with the Oku Ibom Ibibio and President General of Akwa Ibom State Traditional Rulers Council, His Eminence, Ntenyin (Dr.) Solomon Daniel Etuk, on his being bestowed with the national honours of Commander of the Federal Republic (CFR). 

In a good goodwill message, the apex traditional umbrella in Ibibio land rejoices with the premier royal father for award and commended the President and Commander in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mr. Muhammadu Buhari GCFR, for the award.

It noted that the award is a significant national recognition which vindicates his impeccable leadership qualities and a further affirmation of the wise decision of the Ibibios and the conclave of traditional rulers to have selected you in 2018 as the Oku Ibom Ibibio and Patriarch of the Ibibios worldwide.

 “Our joy knows no bounds with your conferment with the prestigious national honours of the Commander of Federal Republic, CFR by the President and Commander in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mr. Muhammadu Buhari GCFR, on Tuesday October 11, 2022 in Abuja.

“This significant national recognition vindicates your impeccable leadership qualities; thus affirming the wise decision of the Ibibios and the conclave of traditional rulers to have selected you in 2018 as the Oku Ibom Ibibio and Patriarch of the Ibibios worldwide.

“This award, with its unquantifiable prestige, is well cherished by us all. We therefore offer our immense thanks to God for giving us a worthwhile leader and father like you,” the body stated.

Akwa Ibom Stakeholders reject Water Resources Bill

Citizen M.K.O A group of Akwa Ibom stakeholders comprising of traditional rulers politicians, academic dons, entrepreneurs, clerics, students and persons from other fields of endeavours have rejected the controversial Water Resources Bill. Converging at the auditorium of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Akwa Ibom State Council in Uyo, over the weekend the stakeholders, in a communique issued at the end of extensive deliberations featuring clause-by-clause analysis of the Bill, dismissed the Bill, describing it as oppressive and exploitative. The bill which was initially introduced and later rejected by the lawmakers during the 8th Assembly following public outcry, was reintroduced in the current 9th National Assembly in 2020.
