Sen. OBA ICT Center turns out 50 fresh Graduates
The Gubernatorial Candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) in Akwa Ibom State, Senator Bassey Albert Akpan has reiterate his resolve to make Akwa Ibom the digital hub of Africa, when he becomes the governor in 2023.
OBA, who represents Akwa Ibom North East Senatorial District in the National Assembly, made this know on Friday, September 23, 2022, while presenting certificates to yet another batch of 50 graduates from the OBA Digital Technology Hub in Uyo.
According to him, “Human Capacity Development is the key to a changing world and its economy. What you have acquired for yourself is an authentic capacity development that will always stay with you and you can transfer what you have been thought to the next person. Akwa Ibom will, in a few years, become the digital hub in Africa.” he added.
The also urged the young graduates to always update themselves so as to broaden their knowledge-base and transfer the acquired knowledge to others.
Mr. Uforotobong Felix, who spoke on behalf of his colleagues, thanked God for the gift of a statesman like OBA and his wife, Pastor (Mrs) Imaobong Bassey Albert.
According to Felix, the saying that “a politician thinks about the next election while a statesman thinks about the next generation” best describes the passion and commitment of Senator OBA in pursuing human capital developments for the masses.
He identified specific areas of special impacts from OBA to include educational empowerment scheme, the scholarship programmes for the undergraduates and many more.
“This training in the OBA Digital Technology Hub has been very deep, insightful, educating and very challenging. It has opened us up to skills we never thought we will have”.
