Akwa Ibom will benefit from my Senatorial sojourn - Envoy Dr Ndem

Prominent Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Senatorial hopeful, Envoy Dr Ndem Ndem says he is running to represent Akwa Ibom North East (Uyo) Senatorial District in order to secure advantage for Akwa Ibom State to take centre stage at the federal level and be well-positioned for positioned for economic prosperity.

Speaking over the weekend during an interaction with newsmen, the Nsit Atai Local Government Area born politician stated that Akwa Ibom's status as a minority bloc in Nigeria constitutes a disadvantage in the national political arena, and suggested that the electorates should only elect candidates with proven expertise and integrity and those who would be courageous to promote and defend Akwa Ibom State interest at the national level.

According to him, effective lobbying and overall robust legislation by him would help attract major infrastructural projects to the state, creation of jobs and massive empowerment of the constituents via education, vocational training and financial support for business.

Speaking further on how he intends to make the state a focal of national importance, the candidate, who is an American trained medical doctor, stated that his global exposure would be of immense benefit in that regard.

He said having understudied the legislature in different climes coupled his understanding and experience in Nigeria politics, he would function effectively in the national assembly.

"I understand how to navigate and get things done. My presence in the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria will benefit Akwa Ibom State from day one of me resuming work. I have consulted widely, I know what the people want which effective representation," he stressed.

Dr Ndem while expressing belief that the APC would win the next general elections said he will forge a cordial relationship with the elected Governor of the state and other elected and appointed officials of government.

He advised government to focus more on job creation, describing as a viable way of curbing youth restiveness and crimes in the state and nation.

His medical practice and commercial farms employ so many peoples in Akwa lbom state, stressing that he does not run it to make profit but to rather better humanity.
