SOLEMN ASSEMBLY/FUND LAUNCH

A leading Development based Association and a sub-clan in Nsit Atai Local Government Area, Essien Itiaba Development Association (EIDA) is set for a solemn Assembly and fund launch of 20million Naira under the Distinguish Chairmanship of Honourable Otuekong Raphael Bassey, the Honourable Commissioner for Housing, Aks and Political Leader of Nsit Atai LGA on the 27th August, 2022.

The group made her position known in a release made public at the end of her general meeting in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.

According to the release signed by her Chairman, Hon. Ekpenyong Daniel, the Planning Committee Chairman, Mr. Usanga Effiong and made known by its Publicity Secretary, Mr. Pius Etim, the group decision to observe a solemn Assembly and fund Launch was to further boost the spiritual life of her members while also empowering them with an enhanced empowerment package.

The release further stated that the fund Launch is scheduled to take place at Asan Essien Itiaba in ikot Itieudung, Nsit Atai LGA, Akwa Ibom State on 27th August, 2022 by 12:00pm prompt. Envisaging the success of the fund launch, the Publicity Secretary of the Association, Mr. Pius Etim stated that the fund launch will have in attendance well meaning citizens of Akwa Ibom State in and outside the Local Government.

The group's spokesman while addressing the newsmen in Uyo maintained that the fund launch will be chaired by the Honourable Commissioner for Housing, Aks, Honourable Otuekong Raphael Bassey.  Also expected in the event as Special Guests are the Honourable Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Aniekan Bassey, Member representing Nsit Atai State constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly and the PDP flagbearer for Uyo Federal constituency seat, Rt. Hon Mark Udo Esset, the MD/CEO of Eminence oil and chemicals, Mr. Emmanuel Okon, the PDP flag bearer for Nsit Atai State constituency, Prince Aniefiok Attah, former member representing Nsit Atai, Uruan, Uyo, and Ibesikpo Asutan in the National Assembly, Rt.Hon Emmanuel Ekpenyong aka (Tempo), a renowned Legal luminary, Barr. Syvanus Obot, the Vice Chairman Nsit LGA, Honourable Idorenyin Inyang, INEC RG Officer, Mr. L Leo, the Paramount Ruler of Nsit Atai LGA, HRM Edidem Peter Okon Effiong, Traditional Rulers and other worthy sons and daughters of Essien Itiaba.

Akwa Ibom Stakeholders reject Water Resources Bill

Citizen M.K.O A group of Akwa Ibom stakeholders comprising of traditional rulers politicians, academic dons, entrepreneurs, clerics, students and persons from other fields of endeavours have rejected the controversial Water Resources Bill. Converging at the auditorium of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Akwa Ibom State Council in Uyo, over the weekend the stakeholders, in a communique issued at the end of extensive deliberations featuring clause-by-clause analysis of the Bill, dismissed the Bill, describing it as oppressive and exploitative. The bill which was initially introduced and later rejected by the lawmakers during the 8th Assembly following public outcry, was reintroduced in the current 9th National Assembly in 2020.
