SOUL-LIFTING MOMENTS AS 'OBA' ORGANISES ‘NIGHT OF PRAISE’

It was a soul-lifting moment as friends, families, political associates and religious groups gathered in large number today(July 29, 2022) for “a Night of Praise and Worship”, organised by Senator Bassey Albert (OBA).

The gathering which took place at the OBA Campaign Ground, Ifa Ikot Akpan, Uyo, featured special renditions and intercessory sessions coordinated by highly revered religious leaders across the land on the theme: “His Sovereign Will”.

In obvious gratitude to God for guiding him through life and directing his political steps over the years, OBA led his entire family and associates in an exciting, soul-lifting worship, a night before his official reception into the Young Progressives Party (YPP).
While  describing Pastor Nnyenime Andy, the state chairman of YPP and the national chairman, Comrade Bishop Amakiri, as men of honour, OBA said God used them to turn things around in Akwa Ibom state.
 At the gathering which had Amakiri in attendance, Rev Emmanuel Opara of Fort Church, Abuja, said those who understand spiritual things work towards success, while others sleep.

He encouraged those in attendance not just to expect things to get better but to actually work towards making sure that they get better.

The pastor later prayed God to overturn and overturn the negative plans of wicked men until Senator OBA becomes the next governor.

Aside the choirs from the various churches, gospel artistes like Esther Edoho, Sammy Sax, Mirobed, among others featured at the event .

The National chairman of YPP, Amakiri, in a remark said he’s loaded with  spiritual gifts from the event, adding that “today, something is happening in Akwa Ibom that the future will speak for all of us”.

Akwa Ibom Stakeholders reject Water Resources Bill

Citizen M.K.O A group of Akwa Ibom stakeholders comprising of traditional rulers politicians, academic dons, entrepreneurs, clerics, students and persons from other fields of endeavours have rejected the controversial Water Resources Bill. Converging at the auditorium of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Akwa Ibom State Council in Uyo, over the weekend the stakeholders, in a communique issued at the end of extensive deliberations featuring clause-by-clause analysis of the Bill, dismissed the Bill, describing it as oppressive and exploitative. The bill which was initially introduced and later rejected by the lawmakers during the 8th Assembly following public outcry, was reintroduced in the current 9th National Assembly in 2020. The Speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey, has charged Miss Joy Camillus and Mr Victor Thomas to make the virtue of sincerity the pillar and centre of their marriage.
