Senator OBA Commiserates With Family Of Slain Bassey Ema

Senator Bassey Albert Akpan (OBA) has again called on the security agencies to unravel the circumstances sorrounding the demise of one of his staunch supporters, Chief Bassey Ema, who was gruesomely murdered by a yet-to-be-identified assailant, recently. 


The Senator, who heads the Committee on Petroleum Resources (Upstream) as well as representing Akwa Ibom North East Senatorial District, made the call at the burial ceremony of the late politician, popularly known as Ema B, on Saturday, July 2, 2022.

While commiserating with Mrs Grace Bassey Ema and family over the passage of their breadwinner, OBA regretted the level of insecurity in the society as well as untimely death of his friend.
Late Ema B (Aged 63 years) was a devoted Christian, successful businessman, counsellor, philanthropist and politician.

Senator OBA while eulogizing Ema B’s virtues, urged the deceased family to preserve the legacies of their departed patriarch, while also praying God to give them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

The funeral/thanksgiving service was conducted United Evangelical Church, Ekpene Ukim, Nsit Ubium LGA.

Akwa Ibom Stakeholders reject Water Resources Bill

Citizen M.K.O A group of Akwa Ibom stakeholders comprising of traditional rulers politicians, academic dons, entrepreneurs, clerics, students and persons from other fields of endeavours have rejected the controversial Water Resources Bill. Converging at the auditorium of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Akwa Ibom State Council in Uyo, over the weekend the stakeholders, in a communique issued at the end of extensive deliberations featuring clause-by-clause analysis of the Bill, dismissed the Bill, describing it as oppressive and exploitative.
