Oku Ibom Ibibio felicitates with Obong Umana Okon Umana On Ministerial Appointment


The Oku Ibom Ibibio and President General of Akwa Ibom State Traditional Rulers Council, His Eminence, Ntenyin (Dr.) Solomon Daniel Etuk has felicitated with Obong Umana Okon Umana on his appointment and swearing-in as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in-charge of Niger Delta Affairs.

The Akwa Ibom premier royal father in a congratulatory message issued in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom capital, described the appointment of Obong Umana as well merited, considering his laudable track records in public service.

The Oku Ibom Ibibio on behalf of the Council, appreciated President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, for the appointment and assured his administration of the support and cooperation of the royal fathers. 

"Akwa Ibom State Traditional Rulers Council, with overwhelming joy and gratefulness to the Almighty God, heartily felicitates with you on your appointment and swearing-in as a Honourable Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in-charge of Niger Delta Affairs by His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, Commander in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, on Wednesday, July 6, 2022.

"We congratulate you on this well merited appointment and trust in your capacity to serve the Nation diligently in view of your antecedents and laudable track records in the public service," he stated.

Oku Ibom Ibibio prayed the Almighty God to continue to fill Obong Umana Okon Umana with wisdom as well as guide and protect him on your duties to our fatherland.

He added, "Congratulations to a worthy son of Akwa Ibom State!

Akwa Ibom Stakeholders reject Water Resources Bill

Citizen M.K.O A group of Akwa Ibom stakeholders comprising of traditional rulers politicians, academic dons, entrepreneurs, clerics, students and persons from other fields of endeavours have rejected the controversial Water Resources Bill. Converging at the auditorium of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Akwa Ibom State Council in Uyo, over the weekend the stakeholders, in a communique issued at the end of extensive deliberations featuring clause-by-clause analysis of the Bill, dismissed the Bill, describing it as oppressive and exploitative. The bill which was initially introduced and later rejected by the lawmakers during the 8th Assembly following public outcry, was reintroduced in the current 9th National Assembly in 2020.
