Assemblies of God set for 4 Day mid-year convention in Uyo

" Power through effectual fervent prayer is the theme for the 2022 mid-year convention of Assemblies of God.

The week long spiritual exercise which will begin on Thursday 30 June to Sunday 3rd July 2022 will take place at the sectional headquarters of the church located at #99 Ukana offot street, Uyo, Akwa Ibom state capital.

In a release signed by the sectional leader Rev. Ufot  Gilbert made it known  that the district superintendent of Assemblies of God Calabar Rev. Isonguyo Eshiet will be expected as the guest speaker throughout the 4 days exercise while Barr Clara Benson and pastor Emmanuel Godfrey are to minister as gospel artist respectively. 

The released invite members of the public and Christ believers from other denominations to attend the spirit filled convention.

Akwa Ibom Stakeholders reject Water Resources Bill

Citizen M.K.O A group of Akwa Ibom stakeholders comprising of traditional rulers politicians, academic dons, entrepreneurs, clerics, students and persons from other fields of endeavours have rejected the controversial Water Resources Bill. Converging at the auditorium of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Akwa Ibom State Council in Uyo, over the weekend the stakeholders, in a communique issued at the end of extensive deliberations featuring clause-by-clause analysis of the Bill, dismissed the Bill, describing it as oppressive and exploitative. The bill which was initially introduced and later rejected by the lawmakers during the 8th Assembly following public outcry, was reintroduced in the current 9th National Assembly in 2020. The Speaker of Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Bassey, has charged Miss Joy Camillus and Mr Victor Thomas to make the virtue of sincerity the pillar and centre of their marriage. Rt. Hon. Bassey gave the charge on Saturday at Ikot Asua Village, Nsit Atai Local Government Area, where he led Honourable Members to witness the couple’s traditional marriage.
